Tips and Guidelines for Longer-Lasting Covers

The Golden Rules

Core guidelines to maintain the integrity and longevity of your covers and products.

Golden Rule 1
Use the product correctly
Ensure the cover or product is the correct size and intended for the item being used. Do not overload bags or force covers to fit.
Golden Rule 2
Prevent damage from sharp objects and strain
Avoid sharp edges, heavy objects, or excessive pulling and stretching, as these may weaken or damage the material.
Golden Rule 3
Protect against moisture and weather exposure
Prevent water from pooling, avoid long-term trapped moisture, and minimise prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight or extreme weather.
Golden Rule 4
Keep clean and store properly
Clean regularly using mild cleaning methods only, and ensure the product is fully dry before packing away.

Cover Care Instructions

Follow these guidelines to ensure your covers longevity and remain in optimal condition for years to come.

Water & Moisture
  • Arrange covers so that water runs off freely and does not collect in folds, gathers, or wrinkles, especially over sewn seams.
  • Items susceptible to moisture damage should not remain covered for extended periods, as condensation or mildew may occur.
Sun & UV Exposure
  • Covers will naturally fade and weaken over time when exposed to prolonged sunlight or high temperatures.
  • Although materials are UV stabilised, harsh weather conditions may reduce product lifespan.
Cleaning
  • Brush regularly with a soft-bristled brush to keep clean.
  • Clean with clear cold water. For localised stains, use a neutral detergent mixed with lukewarm water (max 40°C), then rinse thoroughly.
  • Covers may also be wiped clean with soap and water.
  • Do not use bleach or harsh detergents.
Storage & Safety
  • Keep solvents, insecticides, petrol, and similar fluids away from the product.
  • Ensure the product is completely dry before packing away.

Cover Safety

Important safety precautions to follow when using and storing your covers and accessories.

Secure in windy conditions

Secure tie straps once the cover is fitted to prevent displacement during windy conditions.

Allow complete cooling

Covers for braais or similar items must only be fitted once the item has completely cooled to normal day temperatures.

Do not exceed weight limits

Do not overload camping, braai, or accessory bags beyond the stated weight limit.

No sharp objects inside

Do not place items with sharp edges inside the product.

No heavy or sharp objects on top

Do not place heavy or sharp objects on top of covers as it may cause damage or deformation.

Confirm dimensions before use

Avoid stretching or pulling fabric to force a cover to fit. Confirm dimensions are suitable before use.
